Introduction

Basic physical access problems are solved with ekey TOCAhome. Keys, codes, cards, etc. are no longer needed or required for daily access. The concern of losing a key or forgetting a code is virtually eliminated with the use of one's own fingerprint, because with ekey your finger is the key!

ekey® TOCAhome is a basic standalone (no computer) biometric access control system for homes and business where the users' fingers become a safe, secure, and comfortable key!

TOCAhome is suitable for simple access applications with 24/7 access for enrolled and authorized users; no computer; no logging; no schedules.

TOCAhome is applicable for wide range of applications such as controlling doors, garage doors, main gates, alarm systems, weapons cabinets, valuable cabinets, etc.

TOCAhome Description

ekey® TOCAhome is a basic standalone physical access control system where no computer is needed for operating or managing the system, nor for adding or deleting users.

TOCAhome has 99 fingerprint template capacity and is sold as a set that consists of one fingerprint scanner, one control unit, and a power adapter.

ekey® TOCAhome fingerprint scanners are available in two mounting options as follows:

	surface mount - referred to as standard scanner
	flush mount - referred to as integra scanner

ekey® TOCAhome is available as either 1 relay or 3 relay system (control unit).

One relay system means all enrolled fingers are assigned the same function such as opening door, arming and disarming security system, opening garage door, etc.
Three relays system means each enrolled finger can be assigned one of three functions. So the same user can perform different access functions by using different fingers to activate different relays. For example:
- 1st Finger controls door electric strike(relay #1);
- 2nd Finger controls the security System (relay #2);
- 3rd Finger controls silent alarm (relay #3).

TOCAhome Components

The ekey fingerprint system is not a lock; rather it is a set of two units plus low-voltage power supply:

a Fingerprint scanner (as outside unit) is used for enrolling and identifying users;
a control unit (as inside unit) is used for managing relay switches.

TOCAhome Fingerprint Scanner

The TOCAhome fingerprint scanner (as an outside unit) is used for managing fingerprint templates and has two functions:

Storing fingerprint templates during the enrollment operation
Identifying users' fingerprint during access operation

TOCAhome scanner has the capacity of 99 fingerprint templates with 1-to-many matching algorithm. It can identify users with swipe of their finger without requiring additional criteria such as code, card, FOB, etc.

Each enrolled fingerprint is assigned to activate a specific relay

All ekey fingerprint scanners are weather resistant for inside or outside use

Only one TOCAhome scanner can be connected to each TOCAhome control unit. Multiple TOCAhome scanners cannot be connected to the same TOCAhome control unit.

TOCAhome scanner is available in two designs:

Standard Scanner (surface mount)

weather resistant and typically it is powered by the control unit but can be powered directly by 9-12V AC or 9-12V DC with 1.1 W
measures approximately W 2 ¼ x H 3 ¾ x D 2 ¼ inches
installed at least at 53" height (from lower edge)
has several cover options

Integra Scanner (flush mount)

weather resistant and typically it is powered by the control unit but can be powered directly by 8-24V AC or 8-30V DC with 1 W
measures approximately W 1 ¾ x H 3 ½x D 1 ¼ inches

TOCAhome Control Unit

The control unit (as inside unit) is used for managing the relay (dry contact Form C Switch) and, status reporting, and the following functions:

Programming interface to add and delete users' fingerprints, change system access code, and factory system reset.
Activation of a designated relay during normal operation as instructed by the fingerprint scanner

The Programming is carried using a built-in 4 button keypad and 7-segment LCD; No computer is needed.

Each relay can be used to manage an electrical circuit for operating an electrical strike, security system, magnetic lock, electrified lock, solenoid, or any electrified system or device that can be controlled by on/off switch. A relay is activated once an assigned finger is swiped and identified. The relay activation duration time is fixed and can not be changed.

The control unit is available in two designs: a) Standard design (surface mount); and integra design (flush)as follows:.

Standard Control Unit

It has either 1 relay or 3 relays with common, normal open, normal close. Each relay is rated up to 250V AC 5A. These relays are used to control external devices that have their own power.
It provides power for the fingerprint scanner, it can be power by 9VAC or 12 VDC; in either case the system is polarity blind where positive and negative can be swapped.
It should be installed in the equipment room and be protected from tampering. It Measures approximately W 7 ¼ x H 4 ½ x D 1 ¼ inches

integra Control Unit

It has two relays each is rated up to 30V 2A;
1st relay is powered and is designed for controlling the door lock;
2nd relay is dry contact and can be used to control external device that has its own power.
It provides power to the fingerprint scanner and LAN converter,
it can be power by 8-24 VAC where it is polarity blind; or it can be powered by 8-30VDC where polarity is recognized.
It is designed to be installed in the side of the door leaf. Measures approximately W ¾ - 1 x H 10 ¾ x D 1 ¼ inches

Relay Switch (Hardware)

The relay switch is used as contact closure with common (C), normal open (NO), and normal close (NC).

The relay is connected in series to close/open the device circuit being controlled.

The relay switch type and rating depends on the control unit as follows:

Standard Control Unit - could have 1 or 3 dry contacts (Form C Switch) each is rated up to 250VAC 5A. these relays are used to control external devices that have their own power.
Integra Control Unit - have two relays each is rated up to 30V 2A; 1st relay is powered and is designed for controlling the door lock; relay 2 is dry contact and be used to control external device that has its own power.

UDP Interface

The UDP Interface is an open protocol for TOCAhome using ekey Converter UDP.

Once configured, the UDP converter automatically sends data packet via UDP protocol to a user defined Static IP address and Port.

The UDP packet is sent each time a valid finger is identified.

The receiver of this UDP packet can interpret this data to instantly know who, where, and when an authorized user swiped his/her finger on ekey and consequential take appropriate actions.

ekeyCAM Crestron

ekeyCAM Crestron Application Module is the TOCAhome UDP application module for Crestron home automation system. It allows Crestron to customize its actions for each user depending which finger is being swiped.

ekeyCAM Crestron requires two components as follows:

Crestron UDP software interface developed, distributed, and supported directly by InfuseboX;
ekey LAN converter (Part Number 100460)
