“Ten years ago, my son Thomas attended a security fair in Vienna. He came home all excited and told me about a new access control system he had discovered there. I was skeptical. As an old hand in the security business, I had seen many “innovations” that were no good.

But Thomas did not let up. He persuaded me to test the device once. I was surprised: the thing actually worked. So I ordered some fingerprint scanners and took them to a trade show in Switzerland. There, we sold ekey so successfully right from the start that the Austrian export manager took notice of us. We received the general agency for Liechtenstein and a little later also for Switzerland.

The past ten years have been challenging but very enriching for me. A lot of education and information was needed to bring the topic of biometrics closer to the customers. Now the market is ready, and ekey has many product innovations on the go, a new, exciting phase is about to begin. I am happy about our success stories: About the one that is already behind us and the other that is just beginning.”
